Queries will return all data.
Should you lose data on the server that has ALL the data, you will be
left with an imperfect picture. (ex. disk crash) You will need to
periodically synch the data between your pair of Graphite servers. This
is not MongoDb/Redis, etc.
We have a script that synchronises whisper databases between instances
but the performance is somewhat poor. 10K metrics take 3 hours to
synchronize using an sshfs link. We have not evaluated yet how long it
takes on a busy server with the synch running under with nice/ionice. It
can also not run too often...
