The FAQ mentions two reasons why you created Whisper and stopped using RRDtool.

The second reason is mostly resolved by rrdcached which has been around for some time (although it may not have existed at the point when you started your project).

Could you possibly add a third paragraph to the RRD FAQ entry to mention rrdcached and also comment on whether you are aware of any other differences between rrdcached and whisper (apart from the issue covered in the first paragraph)

In the second paragraph, you could also mention that some people simply put RRD files on /tmp (RAM disk) when they don't care about persistence.
