[Question #258473]: Correct rotatelog config for carbon daemons?
New question #258473 on Graphite:
https://answers.launchpad.net/graphite/+question/258473
Hi guys.
I'm looking information about the correct way to rotate all related carbon logs. I'm asking for last master release 0.10, but I have also a very old 0.9.9 version which seems to have some troubles on log rotating ( sometimes lsof -p <pid> |grep log shows rotated logs log.1 log.2 instead of the original .log, and sometimes shows .log ( deleted).)
After googling a lot , I've found lots of different information regarding different version , but none from the graphite developers. What is the correct way to rotate , truncate, remove data when carbon daemons are filling our filesystems ?
Should be done rotation offline ? could be done online , how can I do in last 0.10 versions ? how can I do in my old 0.9.9 version?
