There are buffers/queues in carbon and in the relay. You should check if
there are merics dropped IIRC see: carbon.agents.xx.cache.overflow and
carbon.relay.xx.destinations.xx.dropped

carbon caches size, carbon.conf: MAX_CACHE_SIZE
carbon-c-relay has a startup option, -q for the size. -L for number of retries before dropping
