Bug description:
GNOME Software includes an "app folder" feature but this feature is
only supported by GNOME Shell.
You can read more about how to use this feature in bug 1590115.
Therefore, the checkbox in the toolbar of the Installed app should
only be visible in GNOME Shell. Also the "app folder" name should only
be visible in GNOME Shell. (For instance "Utilities" is displayed
under "Archive Manager").
Does not support GNOME app folders

Unity
Cinnamon
GNOME Flashback (gnome-panel)
KDE
LXDE
MATE
XFCE
Does support GNOME app folders
---------------
GNOME (gnome-shell)
GNOME Classic (GNOME Classic is an extra gnome-shell mode installed by gnome-shell-extensions that includes both GNOME Shell's Activities Overview, which supports the app folders, and a traditional GNOME 2 style menu, which currently does not recognize the GNOME "app folders".)
