[Bug 1066406] Re: Installing to /usr/share/php/libzend-framework-php/Zend/ isn't the best idea

This bug was fixed in the package zend-framework -
1.11.11-0ubuntu3.16.04.1

---------------
zend-framework (1.11.11-0ubuntu3.16.04.1) xenial; urgency=medium

  * d/Makefile, d/dirs, d/p/series: install Zend into /usr/share/php
    rather than /usr/share/php/libzend-framework-php.
    - Add an entry to the maintscript to install a symlink at
/usr/share/php/libzend-framework-php, in case any end users are using the
      old path explicitly.
    - LP: #1574250, LP: #1066406

Bug description:
The libzend-framework-php package installs its files to /usr/share/php
  /libzend-framework-php/Zend/

This isn't a good idea, because PHP applications don't find it there
(because of the .../libzend-framework-php/... subdirectory, which is
  not in the include_path)

I know that the package also ships /etc/php5/conf.d/zend-framework.ini
which would add this directory to the include_path - if the line
  wasn't commented out :-(

If there isn't a very good reason for the subdirectory, why don't you
just package the files into /usr/share/php/Zend/ ? This would avoid
  lots of problems ;-)

  Sidenotes:
  - this interesting[tm] packaging just caused a quite long debugging session with a user of PostfixAdmin (I'm upstream developer of it)
  - I checked the filelist on http://packages.ubuntu.com/precise/all/libzend-framework-php/filelist
  - personally, I'm using openSUSE ;-)
