  A similar system (not minimized, so running 4.13) appears to work correctly (eth0 is found and renamed to ens3, and the system gets to a getty and has network).

  I've asked kamal to prepare a linux-kvm package with the e1000 driver
  added to do some more testing, in case it does manage to start with
  e1000 but not virtio-net.
