Bug description:
This is basically a request to have an upstream patch applied to the
current Ubuntu Xenial package.
Changes made in sudo 1.8.14 introduced this bug. It was fixed upstream in 1.8.17
https://www.sudo.ws/devel.html#1.8.17b1
https://bugzilla.sudo.ws/show_bug.cgi?id=742
Ubuntu release: Ubuntu 16.04.5 LTS
Package version: sudo/xenial-updates,now 1.8.16-0ubuntu1.5 amd64
I am willing to help fix this (literally a one-liner in the patch), I
just don't know the proper channels.
