[Bug 406515] Re: [Karmic] Brightness fn keys lost functionality (multiple laptops)

Same problem on Acer Aspire 5738. And brightness adjustment didn't work
on Jaunty, either.

Besides, the screen never seems to reach its full brightness and it
flickers sometimes.

Bug description:
Binary package hint: devicekit

Worked fine in 9.04 & previous.

Brightness keys only have failed; all other fn keys still function as intended.

Brightness gnome-panel applet works, but occasionally reports it can't recover data when it can. (not seen since Karmic-RC)

Via KeyboardShortcuts debug process there is no determinable response from the brightness keys at all. All other fn keys give expected output.
