This seems to have gone in a weird circle - my original blueprint was
for a Task Detail pane of some sort, as Bryce mentioned:

That Blueprint has recently been marked as superseeded/completed by this
bug, oddly. Needless to say, I would love to see that Detail Pane but
would hate single click == double click in the current task list.

Bug description:
It will be great to be able to open a task by simple clicking on it in the main view. This could be an option, perhaps using the nautilus comportment.
