[Bug 633817] Re: Gwibber integration with Messaging Menu should be more mailbox-like

Hi, I only started to use Gwibber unstable recently, sorry for this
period without feedback.

If I understood correctly, clicking on one of the "Messages", "Replies"
and "Private" entries switches the view to the corresponding stream if
you only have one column. If you have more than one column, it opens a
new column unless one of them is already the corresponding stream,
right?

Just one suggestion: since "Private" is a subset of "Replies" and
"Replies" is a subset of "Messages", clicking on "Replies" should zero
the counter of "Private" and clicking on "Messages" should zero the
counter of both "Replies" and "Private".

It would also be interesting if clicking on the main Gwibber entry could
zero all the counters. I keep two columns open, corresponding to two
different aggregations, I don't really want Gwibber to open a new
"Messages" column just to zero the counter.

Title:
Gwibber integration with Messaging Menu should be more mailbox-like

Status in Gwibber:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
Sorry for the strange title, I couldn't find better words.

Currently, the Gwibber integration with the Messaging Menu is very IM-like, with per-message entries appearing when received. According to the specification in [1], explained further by Matthew Paul Thomas in [2], the behavior is supposed to be more mailbox-like, with permanent per-stream entries and unread counts.

This, of course, creates the problem of choosing which streams to appear in the Messaging Menu. I personally suggest creating entries in the Menu corresponding to those streams that Gwibber is currently showing in its multi-column view.

Also, to make the MM more useful, it would also be interesting to highlight the unread posts of the corresponding stream if Gwibber is opened via one of those stream indicators (just like a mail client highlights the unread messages in bold). In [3] Mark suggested dimming the read messages. They could stay dimmed until the next time Gwibber refreshes or its unfocused.
