This means the twitter API only sends the cropped string and there is no
solution to change this behavior?

Bug description:
  Retweets from twitter get cropped so it's not possible to click on a link if the link is at the end of the tweet
To see the problem better I will attach two screenshots. One from my gwibber client and the other from the twitter web site with the retweeted tweet.
