[Bug 644837] Re: Gwibber uses persistant interupting popups asking to correct service login information

The following example assumes the same desktop computer.I had Lucid
10.04 installed with two users on it. Also it had Kubuntu alongside the
gnome desktop environment. It had disk encryption and no automatic
login. it did not have enabled on it the Pentium 4 Hyper Threading on
the Bios.Later i reinstalled Ubuntu 10.04.1 and no longer have this bug.
This later installation does not have the Kubuntu desktop environment on
it. Also it does not have two users on it. Besides I decided not to have
encryption on the disk. Finally I log in automatically to Ubuntu. Try to
uninstall the program and reinstall it to see what happens. If not, try
other options like removing Kubuntu (if you have it).I don't know if
there is a way to remove the encryption, but check out. Then remove a
user if you have more than one. If nothing works, I would suggest that
you reinstall Ubuntu. Moreover I enabled Hyper Threading on the Bios
before the reinstall.

  login information

Status in Gwibber:

Status in One Hundred Paper Cuts:
  Confirmed
Status in “gwibber” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
Gwibber is having an error connecting to Twitter and Facebook, so it
pops up with the broadcast accounts dialog every 10 minutes or so. It
pops over whatever other work I am doing, stealing text window focus.

  Expected interactions:
A message telling me what is wrong with my broadcast settings

  Preferred interaction:
to politely pop up a window under other tasks like the daily package updater
