  Implementation would likely depend on rearchitecture of the message
  store, as discussed in Bug #297233.

  I'm not sure how the UI should function for marking messages read.
  Does it require an explicit action? Does it happen automatically when
  a message is visible? (Only when Gwibber has focus?)

  In any case, it is unnecessarily time consuming to have to scroll down
  and manually sift through message to figure out where you left off
  reading.
