this patch

  * includes the one posted before, adding the notification_display_time gconf setting,
  * moves the notification settings in the preferences dialog to an own "notification" tab,
  * makes the setting confgurable with a spinbutton in this tab.

I'm not sure if the developers want to merge this, but it definitely
solves the notification problem.

Bug description:
  Running Gwibber 2.91.3 on Ubuntu 10.10.  Notifications disappear too
  quickly to read!, I want a configuration option to decide on how long
  they appear for.
