[Bug 726391] Re: Gwibber should load new messages on demand, like Twitter web client
Another possible way to do something like this: TweetDeck for Android
remembers the most recent viewed message, and positions the list so that
this message is on top. Scrolling up from there causes new messages to
come into view.

Title:
Gwibber should load new messages on demand, like Twitter web client
Status in Gwibber:
New
Status in “gwibber” package in Ubuntu:
Triaged
Bug description:
Binary package hint: gwibber
The Twitter web client does not display new messages automatically,
instead it says something like "2 new tweets" and you have to press a
button to see the new tweets. I find that helpful, since I can clearly
keep track of what's new since last time I looked. Compare that to
Gwibber, which periodically refreshes its view and automatically
displays new messages with no distinction of what's old or new.
I suggest that Gwibber implement something similar to the Twitter web
client, to display the number of new messages and a button to display
them. A further enhancement could be to color-code different batches
of downloaded messages with different colors.
For those who like the current behavior, the new behavior could be
optional.
