[Bug 691175] Re: Removing gwibber-service removes indicator-me
Ubuntu seem to take the ultra strict packaging guidelines of Debian and
build absolute trash on top of their hard work by introducing
ridiculous dependencies like this. Removing Evolution tries to take
ubuntu-desktop with it, now Gwibber wants to delete my indicators.
The only reason most other packages are reasonably sane is because
they're taken from a Debian (who actually have a clue about packaging).
Anything that originates from Ubuntu seems to be a farce when it comes
to packaging.
I'm not trying to be unnecessarily negative - I think that these
comments are entirely necessary.

Removing gwibber-service removes indicator-me

Bug description:
Binary package hint: gwibber
Removed gwibber. Since gwibber-service starts unasked three services removed it also.
It removes indicator-me too.
Expected is, gwibber-service can be removed without interference of whatever indicator*.
Gwibber is just another app which one may use or not, but indicators are essentials of Ubuntu-Desktop.
How come that just another app is allowed to remove indicator*, which is needed for another app e.g. Empathy?
Aside, ubuntuone-client and couchdb-bin were removed before, now when
attempting to reinstall indicator-me, those and related, already
removed, packages are about to be installed again. (screenshot)
Result, user runs in circle or has to abstain from indicator-me, while
keeping Empathy without showing online-status.
Conclusion, if gwibber-service leaves indicator-me alone, follow-up behaviour as above don't occur.
Plus, either package doesn't mention the other one as dependency, although Synaptic says something else.
