I have a similar problem, however I don't get the dbus error.

  Gwibber Does Not Refresh

Bug description:
  Gwibber opens with a stream that is 67 days old. It does not refresh
  on its own. Manual refresh does nothing. Stop/start gwibber-service
  does nothing. Reinstall Gwibber does nothing.

  Running gwibber from the terminal produces this:
