Title:
self signed certificates cause silent failure
Status in Gwibber:
Incomplete
Bug description:
I run a statusnet instance on our network which uses a self-signed
certificate. Gwibber does not like this.
At the moment I have inserted a line:
self.curl.setopt(pycurl.SSL_VERIFYPEER,0)
into the network.py file of gwibber-service to work around the
problem. Obviously this is not the proper solution. At least an error
dialog would be helpful (gwibber fails silently, gwibber-service logs
the problem in debug mode), so the user knows what is going on, but
support for self signed certificates through a configuration option
would be even better.
