[Bug 690175] Re: url not converted if is using one letter in uppercase

This behavior has changed, most noticeable for links that don't have a
www. in it. It isn't really a bug, we just do some guessing to
determine if it might be a link and linkify it ourselves if it starts
with http. If it is posted as a link, it would still end up as a link,
it is just us magically making what we think is a link into a link that
is affected. Not sure we want to assume all combinations of case for
http to be links.

Basically, I am not sure we should "fix" this. Anyone else have
opinions?

Title:
url not converted if is using one letter in uppercase

Status in Gwibber:
  Opinion
Status in “gwibber” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: gwibber

if some of your contacts (for example one of your twitter account)
posted an url using this format "Http://www.example.com", stream is
not parsing correctly (it doesn't) so in fact the url is not converted
into a link. if you check at twitter.com site, original post is
converted into a link using uppercase or lowercase. Possible if you
use other formats like HtTp or HTTp and similars cause same effect.

This issue occurs under gwibber 2.32.2-0ubuntu2 with Ubuntu Maverick
