Re: [Bug 691557] Re: Links with dots at the end are not resolving properly

Hi Bilal,

I've been looking for a fitting link but lost my patience today and
created one myself (latest tweet at http://twitter.com/#!/stund_aliega
<http://twitter.com/#%21/stund_aliega>)
It's still the same issue, gwibber doesn't recognize where the link ends
and includes the first two dots of a '...' into the link, so it doesn't
open correctly.

I'm on Ubuntu 10.04, Gwibber is installed with version 2.30.3.

Hope this helps, but if not ... I haven't encountered the error in quite
a while now because the two news agencies who used to but the dots at
the end of their urls stopped doing it...

Thanks and kind regards,
Daniela

Title:
Links with dots at the end are not resolving properly

Status in Gwibber:
  Incomplete
Status in “gwibber” package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: gwibber

  1) 10.04.1 LTS
  2) 2.30.3-0ubuntu1
  3) link should open in firefox
  4) url isn't resolved correctly and leads to 404 error.

  Detailed info:
When the tinyurl address is followed by "...", the link doesn't open correct because it always includes two dots into the url. This only happens in the Gwibber FE, if I click the same link via the twitter webpage, it resolves just fine.

  Steps to reproduce the error:
  1) Login into a twitter account.
  2) Twitt any link followed by three dots.
  3) Check the sent tab at gwibber and try to open the link just twitted. The link will open with 2 dots. Browsing the link from Twitter homepage will resolve the link properly.
