Re: [Bug 825575] Re: Problem if same nickname in identi.ca / status.net

In Gwibber 3.4.0 StatusNet seems well implemented.

Replies without adding @login work and add well in the context.

Regarding this specific bug of same nickname in identica or statusnet,
today if I answer to jbfavre StatusNet account, dent is well posted to
http://status.jbfavre.org/ - the same if I click on its avatar on
Gwibber, it loads me in Firefox to its message on his StatusNet
instance, not on identica.

So it seems to be fixed.

Title:
Problem if same nickname in identi.ca / status.net

Status in Gwibber:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Hello,

On my Identica account I have a problem with some nicknames.

Identi.ca is the main tool used, but some people have their own
  status.net server.

And it can happen that 2 different people take same nickname on each.

For example, I follow http://cb.status.net/ and
  http://status.jbfavre.org/

I well receive their messages in Gwibber in my identi.ca timeline, no
  problem for that.

But if I click on cb or jbfavre icon on Gwibber, it loads in default
browser : http://identi.ca/cb who is not the same person (!), but
another guy with same pseudo in identica, or for jbfavre
http://identi.ca/jbfavre which is no more used.

Same if I select the menu entry on the right "View user profile" in
Gwibber : it shows me the identica profile, not the status.net one

Same again for someone who switched months ago from identi.ca to
statusnet with same username, like http://status.scoffoni.net a reply
message to @pscoffoni will be sent to identi.ca/pscoffoni which exists
  but is no more active

To answer to the right person, I have to add its status.net address ie
: @cb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx or @jbfavre@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx to make sure it
  gets to the right place.

But : it takes place (only 140 characters...) and how to know which
people are concerned ? As in Gwibber I do not see the difference.

How to manage these "homonyms" in Identi.ca / Status.net ?

Other related question, in the case there is only a statusnet account
but no other people with the same identi.ca username, if I send a
public message / reply to him just by using @ will it been sent to the
statusnet account or to no one as identi.ca login does not exist ?

I don't know if it is easily solvable. If you're using the twitter-
compatible API then each user entry has a statusnet:profile_url
  element which you can use.

Perhaps Gwibber could use new Status.net AtomPub API :
  http://status.net/wiki/AtomPub ?

  Thanks in advance.
