Re: Envy 13 and v2.6.35 kernel

Hi,

I'm running an Envy13 for ~6months now and I'm quite happy with the
device. there's no feature I haven't been able to get to work (didn't
try hardware monitoring/ lm-sensors).

most stuff works out of the box, only one patch is needed for the
clickpad, as otherwise you're only able to click with the left mouse
button, regardless of finger position.

switchable graphics already work good with a 2.6.34-rc3 kernel (which
include the switcheroo patches). I do a lot of presentation and use my
DVI-to-VGA adapter quite often. the only downside is you have to restart
X to switch. there's no way to do this with X running, as it is possible
within windows.

the Envy itself is really great and durable, I got it to use ~12W when
not doing to heavy tasks (as virtualization ;-))

I'm currently unable to tell exact details on 2.6.35 as I'm still stuck
with 2.6.34-rc3 but I'm pretty happy with that already.

I can't say how good the notebook will work under ubuntu, as I'm a
gentoo user and have done quite some stuff 'by-hand'.

but if you have any problems, a mail to this list will surely solve
them ;-))

Regards
Mr. Olli
