Now that I have uprgraded to 2010.4 I cannot reproduce the error.  :)  I have a new problem, but that is for further research.

Status in Hugin - Panorama Tools GUI:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  1.Load images... - works fine
  2.Align images... - works fine
     add Photometrics, autocrop
  3. Create Panorama... - gives message:
