[Bug 678798] Re: hugin crashes on Exposure optimization

I also have a crash of the exposure optimization. This happened on a
large, complex project. I can optimize parts of the project by selecting
sets of images in the fast preview, but if I exposure-optimize the whole
project, it fails.

The optimization starts normally by loading and scaling all the images.
After that, the optimizer window shows and starts with the first run.
Once it's done a few dozen iterations, all hugin windows disappear. If I
start hugin from the command line, I can see that it dies with an
illegal instruction (quite worrying....)

So far I haven't managed to reduce the problem to a simpler situation -
I suspect it's actually the size and complexity of the project that
causes the problems. So I attach the whole project - the CPs are
deliberately removed (there were some 80000 of them) since they don't
make a difference to the problem.

My system:

Betriebssystem: Linux 2.6.38-8-generic-tuxonice i686
Architektur: 32 bit
Freier Speicher: -1771400 kiB

Hugin
Version: Pre-Release 2011.1.0.13dd690b1ce1
Ressourcen-Pfad: /usr/local/share/hugin/xrc/
Datenpfad: /usr/local/share/hugin/data/

I tried with 2011.0 and had the same problem. find attached the project
file

Title:
  hugin crashes on Exposure optimization

Status in Hugin - Panorama Tools GUI:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
Hugin crashes on Exposure optimization when more than 72 images are
included and "Low dynamic range, variable white balance" preset is
used. "Low dynamic range" preset works fine.

I'm using Hugin build 2904 on WinXP.

The full set is 76 images, comprising 360 degree panorama. The issue
does not seem to be related to specific images in the set. I have
tried deselecting various images and result is always the same --
hugin crashes when more than 72 images are included.

I can supply windows crash log if necessary.
