[Bug 817104] Re: Hugin 2011.2.0 RC2 WIN 32 crashes
I narrowed the error down to issues with JPEG images. Specifically, I
had compiled libtiff with a different JPEG library than everything else.
The reason to recompile Enblend instead of using the precompiled version
is speed improvements. In my quick unscientific tests, I determined the
new version to be 31% faster than the old OpenMP version and 58% faster
than the old regular version in blending my two input TIF images into a
JPEG, a considerable speed improvement. I'll post a new Hugin
2011.2.0-rc4 build later tonight with the new executables. Since most
computers are multi-core now, I'm switching the multi-threaded OpenMP
version to default, allowing the user to switch to the slower single-
threaded build if ImageCache is required.
