[Bug 681255] Re: HDR preview in "panorama preview" window is badly visible.
The dynamic range of a HDR image is too big to be shown on a normal window. So the dynamic range needs to be compressed. Hugin is using a kind of min max scaling, as a result the preview looks washed out.
A alternative would be the use of tone mapping algorithms, but this is beyond the scope of hugin.

Title:
HDR preview in "panorama preview" window is badly visible.
Status in Hugin - Panorama Tools GUI:
Incomplete
Bug description:
I have a (test-) HDR pano.
I loaded the old pto file, and reran the "align" step. The aligning
seems to work....
However in the preview window that pops up (called "panorama
preview"), the pano shows as if it is too white (a bit like "grayed
out"). I'm used to clicking the EV value up or down, to modify the
general appearance, but that doesn't work.
It is probably a PEBKAC. But making things work more natural would
help me do the right thing.
Does the EV button do anything in this mode? Why is my preview all
whited out? (clicking LDR allows me to view my pano normally).
Tested version: mercurial checkout 24-11-2010.
Project: about 14 3-image stacks for a full 360 degree shot.
