[Bug 978608] Re: Hugin crashes when lens parameters are changed

This error is the most boring one in my system!

It seems to me that Hugin does not initiate/recalculate all internal
variables on a second otimizer run! This means, if a parameter setting
is changed by the user after the first optimizer run, some old internal
values get in conflict with the new parameters and Hugin crashes.

As already mentioned, the crash can be avoided if this sequence is strictly observed:
- First optimizer run
- Change a parameter in the user interface (e.g. set share g=100, or change anchor image to another image)
- Avoid optimizer run now, but save pto file instantly and close Hugin
- Restart Hugin and open the saved pto file.

I suspect that this error is dependent on the version of compiler used
(or the actual developmet tools used) and therefore the bug may not be
reproducable on some systems (some development tools may clear the
memory before use or may auto-initiate values, which is seemingly not
the case in the build used by me).

My build: Hugin 2011.4.0.cf9be9344356 built by Matthew Petroff (as
provided on the download page). The 32 bit and the 64 bit version both
show the same bug on my system, which is Windows 7 64 bit Home Premim
German.

Norbert

Title:
Hugin crashes when lens parameters are changed

Status in Hugin - Panorama Tools GUI:
  New

Bug description:
Example: Load 1 image, set 1 horizintal line and optimize. Then change
a lens parameter (I changed the horizontal share g) and optimize
  again. Hugin crashes!

Same occurs with some other parameter changes.

Workaround: Save the project instantly after change of settings, close
hugin, and restart with the saved project. You must close Hugin, it is
not sufficient to close only the project and relaod ist.

This was found in Hugin 2011.4.0.cf9be9344356 built by Matthew Petroff
  in Windows 7 64 bit.
