Can we set the status to "Won't Fix" or better "Invalid"?
This looks like an Automake/Autoconf problem.

  The downstream fedora enblend package is carrying this patch (by Rex
  Dieter), he says it's upstreamable so here you go:

    "fix pdf generation with recent texlive, set TEXINPUTS properly
  (upstreamable)"
