The import information are missing:
Which operating system? Which Hugin version?
What is the full log? 

Changing the user name does not change the temp folder. It still contains the ampersand.
You need also to change the temp dir (see https://bugs.launchpad.net/hugin/+bug/791677 
maybe also changing the TMPDIR user variable.

  project path not recognised

Status in Hugin - Panorama Tools GUI:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  so when im done making my panorama and I try and stitch it together
  the program only asks me for an output file prefix and when ive named
  it and I try and continue I get the following error

  ******is not recognized as an internal or external command,
  operable program or batch file.
  The system cannot find the path specified.

  ive tried multiple things like using different names and even changing
  the account name on the pc as it contained an &
