The last used directory when clicking "Stitch!" is just that. It has
nothing to do with using any component from the command line or any
other button from the UI. It can be stored in Hugin's configuration
file.

Thank you for the workaround of using a path in the output prefix.

  Hugin should remember last used destination folder

Status in Hugin - Panorama Tools GUI:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  In one instance of Hugin I add an equirectangular image, reproject it to linear and render it to a folder, say /home/bob/photos/panoramas/foo
  Then I delete that image, add a new one, reproject it, render to /home/bob/photos/panoramas/foo
  I use hugin_stitch_project so that I don't have to do the annoying and of no use to me step of saving the project.
  The problem is that I need to go to /home/bob/photos/panoramas/foo every time I click "Stitch!". Hugin should remember the last-used folder - it does not.
  The "default output prefix" in Preferences is "%projectname" but seeing as I did not save the project, the last-used folder should be remembered.

  So one solution is for Hugin to remember the last-used folder when the
  project has not been saved. Another solution is for a "%lastused"
  option to be added to the "default output prefixes".
