No, there's no more dialog.

Hugin was working as recently as February 2015, but soon after that the 
fault appeared and I haven't been able to use it from Linux since.  I'm 
not aware of any changes that I've made that might influence the fault.

I've removed and reinstalled hugin---same behaviour.

May I say that I've used Hugin heavily and I'm delighted by and grateful 
for the results
