I'm on Vista x64 too and have the same problem with the latest Hugin
version.

A picture of the error message is attached. Although it is not the Hugin
window, the error is exactly the same. I had an identical problem with
another app today. :-(

  Hugin 2015.0.0 64 bit.exe crashes on startup

Bug description:
  I just downloaded the 64bit version of 2015 Hugin from sourceforge --
  this is one for Windows. Once starting the application, it crashes
  stating that it could not find starting point in one of the dynamic
  link libraries.  System: Vista 64 bit, 4 GB memory
