[Bug 1770946] Re: Package Hugin as flatpak
I cited from out download page:
<quote>
The Hugin project makes reasonable efforts to ensure that the released source code builds on a wide variety of platforms. We also provide information how to build the source code (links below). We don't have the resources to go beyond that. Sometimes we also don't have access to specific platforms and can't guarantee that the code builds either.
Please don't ask us for binaries / pre-compiled versions. We believe that if a group of users of a specific platform feels the need, they will eventually produce them.

We don't have the resources to host a flatpak repository. If some user wants to do this (e.g. push it to another flatpak hoster), he/she should go ahead.
We will happily accept patches needed to implement this. But we will don't it on our own. Sorry.

Title:
Package Hugin as flatpak
Status in Hugin:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Hi,
I would like to ask to package Hugin as a flatpak, which is a Linux
distribution agnostic way of delivering software.
The documentation about it can be found here:
http://docs.flatpak.org/en/latest/
That would bring several advantages for Linux users and developers,
such as being able to use the latest version of the application on
several distributions and different versions (old LTS or a just
released one), it avoids dependency problems, it allows application
sandboxing, and more:
http://docs.flatpak.org/en/latest/introduction.html#target-audience
Thanks
