[Bug 1825030] Re: Hugin portable version no longer available

First, Hugin is only releasing source code. The binaries for different platforms are built by the community.
Second, more import, there is and there was no portable version. On Windows all settings are stored in the registry - so Hugin is not a portable application in the narrower sense. The settings are only stored for the current user on the same machine.

The mentioned 7z archive are only the same files as in the corresponding installer.
You can run Hugin also without installer - then the file association are missing and you need to install the necessary run-time libs (Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio, matching version to build environment) separately.

Title:
Hugin portable version no longer available

Status in Hugin:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Hi,

There are 3 versions of Hugin packages on Chocolatey (Chocolatey is a package manager for Windows) :
  1. https://chocolatey.org/packages/hugin (meta-package)
  2. https://chocolatey.org/packages/hugin.install (standard installation with msi)
  3. https://chocolatey.org/packages/hugin.portable (portable version)
The 2 first versions are under review on Chocolatey in order to be approved (normal process).

And I want to know what to do with the portable version. In the past,
there was portable versions, for example:
  https://sourceforge.net/projects/hugin/files/hugin/hugin-2015.0/Hugin_2015.0.0_64bit.7z/download

For the latest version, there is no portable version (See the content
  of https://sourceforge.net/projects/hugin/files/hugin/hugin-2019.0/).
Is it just an oversight (and portable versions will be again available
for current and next versions) or should we have to deprecate the
  portable version?

Thanks in advance for your answer,
  Regards,
  Christophe
