Same problem.
MacBook Pro with M1 Pro chip, OS X Sonoma 14.2.1.
Hugin 2019.2.0 just downloaded from SourceForge.
Only launches to display UI and tip of the day. Any further action immediately closes the application. OS warning re: unexpectedly closed app appears in a while.
Unchecked the "Show tips on startup", but the selection was not saved – next launch displayed the tip again.

  Hugin Crashes When Starting Program

Status in Hugin:
  New

Bug description:
  Installed Hugin-2019.2.0.dmg on my Mac.  It was stated as the latest
  version today 12/1/2023.  I am running on Mac Studio Sonoma 14.1.2.
  The program starts, but shows "Tip of the Day" window.  When I close
  the "Tip of the Day" window, the program crashes. I have attached a
  "Hugin Problem Report.txt" file.

  If you have a work-around I would greatly appreciate it.  Thank you,
