  Can't open Hugin (app not responding)

Status in Hugin:
  New

Bug description:
  I've been using Hugin regularly for years. Just now when I tried to
  open it as always, the app crashed when I closed the tip of the day. I
  tried again and it crashed again. The 3rd time, it simply didn't open
  at all (my MacBook Pro says "app not responding" and all I can do is
  force quit).

  Therefore, I deleted my version of Hugin and downloaded the latest
  version. Again, it simply does not open anymore: it shows in the Mac
  Dock but with the mention "application not responding".

  I've been using the same MacBook Pro 16-inch 2019, and recently
  upgraded to Sonoma 14.6.1 (could the new OS cause the issue? nothing
  else has changed and I've always used Hugin with no issue before).
