Re: bumblebee v1.0 has been released... updated script and new name...

Hi,
I'me in the bumblebee tests and here are my results.
First I installed a new fresh Ubuntu 10.10 and installed the bumblebee
script.
I get the quite famous message
[VGL] ERROR: Could not open display :1.

(I can't remember the exact number of the display)

I searched a little but didn't find a good clue on the error.
But I assume a 32bit edition wasn't the best idear on my 64bits cpu and
I had a kernel with -pae extension. Maybe it is a part of the result.

Then I install an Ubuntu 11.04 over the 10.10. I relaunch the procedure
and get something.
Here are the average fps by the chosen graphic mode with glxgears
(first, the annonced fps in glxgears; second, the seen fps):
-yuv 1600 0.3 :(
-jpeg 1900 30
-proxy 700 30
-xv 670 60
-rgb 1700 60 but with funny colors (rgb<->yuv?)

and the intel with 60fps annonced, 60fps seen.
The proxy mode was buggy at launch with 1700fps annonced and completely
lagging, then drops, then stabilised to 700fps.

During the optimus running, only a cpu is 100% and my 3 other ones are
normal (8-15%). I have an Intel i3 with hyper-threading.
Despite, I didn't succeed to work with optirun32.
The answer of the terminal:
[VGL] WARNING: VirtualGL attempted and failed to obtain a Pbuffer-enabled
[VGL] 24-bit visual on the 3D X server :1. If the application
[VGL] subsequently fails, then make sure that the 3D X server is configured
[VGL] for 24-bit color and has accelerated 3D drivers installed.
Error: couldn't get an RGB, Double-buffered visual

Hope it helps.

By the way, I was thinking about an extension of the script. I have a led indicator to show witch card is used.
Blue:intel,wight : nvidia
May this can be add by acpi dsdt in the future (combined with the nvidia-switch-on/off acpi functionality)

Cheers,
Ted
