Re: Hello + system info

Hi Lekensteyn,

sorry, forgot the obvious: I am running Ubuntu 11.10 (and can boot 11.04 in parallel if need be). On the 11.04 I already have ironhide (at least I think it's ironhide, not bumblebee anymore) installed, but it is the * automatic * switching I am looking for (probably like most everybody else). Nonetheless, you are right, of course, bumblebee/ironhide are a good alternative in the meantime.

Cheers,

chessplayer

Hi,

What distro and version are you using? You could try Bumblebee (https://github.com/Bumblebee-Project/Bumblebee), but it'll require recent video drivers which support your video card.

    Hello everybody,

I am interested in the switching topic, although I am not a gamer.
However, as I want to produce tutorial videos for my students, the
graphics power I have slumbering inside my almost desktop system
    might as well be unleashed.

So, here is my system info:

    ------------------------------
    K93SV
    1.0
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation 2nd
Generation Core Processor Family Integrated Graphics Controller

01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: nVidia Corporation GF106
    [GeForce GT 555M] [10de:0df4] (rev a1) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller])
