Bug description:
The current "purge" option (see bug #355336) iterates over all 512 blocks of my GT-120. Even when only a few have been written. Even though the unused blocks are only read, and not cleared if not neccesary, this still takes time. 

A fast purge would calculate the number of blocks that requiring clearing from the number of points listed in the configuration block, and just start there, skipping the reading of never-written blocks.
