You should be able to use the GPS tracker on a usb hub (at least it
works for me). It could be that there is something weird about the hub
though (maybe related to timing etc.), but there is not much I can do
about it. There are some limitations in the current usb driver
implementation, but as it mostly works this will take some time to fix.
