It happens each time for me. I've just started the screenlet now and it
happens again. I'm using Ubuntu 11.04 32bit with Unity (and thus Compiz
enabled) but I'm not sure what else I could tell you to help solve this
issue.

 I'm also using the Google Calendar and FolderView screenlets and ...
that's all I got.

Bug description:
  The black screen bug still occurs when using the "Black screen
  workaround" in the old version so I've updated the bug description:
  when using WallpaperClock screenlet (version 2.6 from the screenlets
  PPA) in Ubuntu 11.04, the screen turns black every 1 minute for a few
  seconds, making this screenlet unusable.
