I have tested these packages under CentOS 6.3 with libjpeg:

# cat /etc/redhat-release 
CentOS release 6.3 (Final)

# rpm -q libjpeg
libjpeg-6b-46.el6.x86_64

# rpm -qa | grep php
php53u-common-5.3.22-3.ius.el6.x86_64
php53u-cli-5.3.22-3.ius.el6.x86_64
php53u-5.3.22-3.ius.el6.x86_64
php53u-gd-5.3.22-3.ius.el6.x86_64

I've tested basic GD support using a graphing libraries examples,
everything graphed normally.
