Message #04136
[Bug 1339737] Re: WL- add rsync 3.1.1
This package was pretty easy to build, since there were no other
dependencies I had to packages. I feel this package would be a good fit
for IUS and it is maintainable. Before being pushed to the stable
repos, we require the requester to test the new package. The package
has been built and will be placed in the testing repos tonight. It may
take up to 24 hours to sync to all mirrors. Since this is a replacement
package for rsync, you will need to either remove rsync first, or
perform a single transaction using yum shell.
# yum erase rsync
# yum --enablerepo=ius-testing install rsync31u
# yum shell
> repo enable ius-testing

You didn't specify the OS you were targeting, but I built this for
RHEL/CentOS 6. I also created builds for RHEL/CentOS 7, however we
haven't fully deployed and configured our infrastructure for that. I
basically used this package to practice my conditionals for a dual EL6/7
spec file. It seems to have worked well, but I'll wait for your
feedback on it to see if I missed anything.
