Packages are already in process of testing. Developers have work with
symfony 1.x framework compatibility with 5.6 and also changing mysql to
mysqli.

I will report as time goes on how satisfied are we and if everything is
working.

So far so good.

  WL: Backport of php56u to el6

Status in IUS Community Project:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  IUS offers php56u for el7, but it doesn't provide one for el6.

  There are lot of installations out there still on el6, and would like
  to benefit out of new PHP. Since you already have packages I presume
  backporting shouldn't pose a big problem.

  I can assist with testing.
