Title:
panic during boot – 3.8.0-26
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Hi,
I attached screenshots of the panic.
on 13.04 during boot, somewhere during starting of /etc/init/ services kernel 3.8.0-19 and 3.8.0-26 panics. I made a quick search but didn't found a related report. Though I found a quick fix in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1144322
I installed 3.7.0 as mentioned in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1144322/comments/23
to keep on working.
I can't use `ubuntu-bug linux` cause I can't boot with the panicing
kernel.
* Boot never succeeds
* but sometimes it shows a panic trace
* sometimes it flickers to black or to frozen mouse pointer like shown in vid.mp4
* once it showed a panic trace and after some seconds it printed even more screen filling stack trace, and when again even more
Though I spotted panics with 3.8.0-19, I only did screenshots and
multiple boots with 3.8.0-26.
This is new, introduced since do-release-upgrade from 12.10 to 13.04
yesterday.
Please contact me when I can provide more information.
