Title:
Bug #1169984 Still Effects Me
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
I am using uname -a
Linux gatlibs-Inspiron-1525 3.8.0-22-generic #33-Ubuntu SMP Thu May 16 15:17:14 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
on lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 13.04
Release: 13.04
H.D.M.I. is not presented as an option for output of sound in settings
for sound. I really need this functionality for sound and display.
After months, I have found the "force-dvi" function to allow me to use
1920x1080.
I am using a proprietary driver for sound on the laptop. Sound
wouldn't work out-of-the-box. I am using a Dell Studio 1525. What
used to be jockey only tells me the following: "Using Non-free
firmware for Linux kernel drivers from linux-firmware-nonfree
(propriety). Of course, I decline the alternative option: "Do not use
the device".
