[Bug 1179315] Re: Backlight control problems (3.8.0-25-generic #37-Ubuntu SMP)

Luis Angel Vicente Sanchez, as per
http://www.dell.com/support/troubleshooting/us/en/19/Product/xps-13
-l321x-mlk an update is available for your BIOS (A09). If you update to
this, does it change anything?

If not, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date

Thank you for your understanding.

** Description changed:

  After upgrading to 3.8.0-20.31 kernel my backlight control stopped
  working. It was working on previous versions of the kernel. I know other
  people reported this bug before and that 3.8.0-20.31 kernel was suppose
  to fix it; but in my case it was working before and this update broke
  it.
