Title:
/boot/config-{uname -r} does not contain correct kernel configuration
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
I tried to compile a modified kernel. Unfortunately the configuration
files located at /boot don't fit the kernel(s). I compiled a kernel
without changing any option using /boot/config-2.6.24-16-generic.
After installing the new kernel package and rebooting with that
kernel, half of the hardware didn't work anymore. Unless I'm very much
mistaken there should be no difference between the new kernel and the
original one.
Furthermore, one can't access /proc/config.gz because this option ist
not activated in the default kernel image.
