[Bug 1153217] Re: Standby does not work anymore - system drains battery and overheats
Zordid, could you please confirm this issue exists with the latest
development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ . If the issue remains,
could you please run the following command in the development release
from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will
automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this
report:
apport-collect -p linux <replace-with-bug-number>

Title:
[Dell XPS L702X] Standby does not work anymore - system drains battery
and overheats
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Since this kernel version, my system won't go into standby correctly
anymore!
I noticed it several times that the laptop battery on my Dell XPS 17
(L702x) with Core i7 processor was empty when I wanted to resume after
standby, but now I investigated further and noticed that the case is
EXTREMELY hot when it is in standby.
Don't know what you need to investigate this, but this has not been the case for years now.
Maybe it is even harmful to the system, as fans are off and all, but the processor works on and on!
Please help!!
